Club ethics
The club's aim is to promote Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, train hard and learn as much as possible. No fees are charged, the only requirement is either to join the university club if you are a student there, or join the main association if not. This is purely to cover insurance requirements by the university.
The club has a small selection of equipment to loan to students to allow a 'trial' period. Advice is given on choosing equipment, and the club has good connections in Japan for new equipment.
The club travels extensively for both teaching and training, and all are welcome from beginners to experienced students. Visitors from other clubs and associations are welcome.
Demonstrations and charity events are given and attended free of charge (any excuse to practise!). Please contact us for further information.

History of Our Club

The club was set up by a group of friends from the local kendo dojo who also wished to learn iaido. In its early years, we were 'out in the sticks' and had to travel all over the country to practise. The club now has the luxury of several high grade instructors and is now capable of teaching to a high standard.
The last demonstration given by the club members was at the Japan university in Durham, a case of  'taking coals to Newcastle'!!
